hey kids-
well, there were a few bumps in the road, but our patriots came up winners
against the texans in our first playoff game of the season. i know i’m late
as usual, so i hope you’ve all been thinking your happy patriots thoughts that
it won’t be our last!
our fearless quarterback led sunday’s charge with 344 yards and three
touchdown passes, surpassing Joe Montana as he earned his 17th postseason career
victory. in all those wins, tommy’s thrown 41 touchdown passes, but he still
looks just as excited as if this was the first one as he celebrates with vereen.
it never gets old for us, either, tommy!
in other news, it took all season long – but omg i heart wes welker! aaron
seems gracious so i don’t think he’ll mind, and rob got hurt AGAIN so i really
don’t care what he thinks. wes played like a superstar on sunday, ducking and
dashing for 131 yards and reminding me why i started hearting him in the first
place. remember this? dreamy sigh.
early in the season, shane vereen got my attention when he came in against
the broncos for one play, one yard and one touchdown. he’s come a long way
since then, and he came up big against the texans. in addition to one rushing
touchdown, vereen also caught two touchdown passes – including a 33-yard stunner
that cemented this week’s tommy. cuz, you know, it’s totally normal that our
third-string running back should catch a 33 yard pass. oh yeah –
strut your stuff, shane!
we play baltimore on sunday, kids, and i’m not gonna lie: i’m stressin out.
i’ve said before that we often beat them but rarely deserve to do so, and
they’re out for blood after our crazy win in last year’s conference title game.
Add in all the emotion they’re playing with right now, and our
patriots definitely have their work cut out for them. there’s been a lot of
debate about jinxes, lucky hats, and outward facing beer labels this week, but
the happy patriots thoughts actually DO work – so think yours in full force! i’m
going to go bake something.
have a great weekend- and go pats!
love dav
